<p>Adobe is unveiling their newest version of Photoshop on April 12th, 2010 after less than two years in Creative Suite 4.   Adobe also announced that the new CS will include a 64-bit version for Mac OS X where previously only their Windows version supported 64-bit. Here are a few sneak peaks at the power and speed of Photoshop CS5.</p>
<p><strong>Content-Aware Fill</strong></p>
<p><object classid="clsid:d27cdb6e-ae6d-11cf-96b8-444553540000" width="480" height="385" codebase="http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=6,0,40,0"><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true" /><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always" /><param name="src" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/uyxDBRnuL3s&amp;hl=en_US&amp;fs=1&amp;" /><param name="allowfullscreen" value="true" /><embed type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="480" height="385" src="http://www.youtube.com/v/uyxDBRnuL3s&amp;hl=en_US&amp;fs=1&amp;" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true"></embed></object></p>
<p>As demonstrated in the video above content-aware fill can make quick work of removing large and small objects as well as filling in what&#8217;s missing in your panoramic photo.</p>
<p>When I first saw this I can honestly say my jaw dropped.  It&#8217;s hard to believe that Adobe has developed the technology to achieve this level of intricacy in photo manipulation.  While it may not be 100% perfect, it will get you in the right direction and save you hours upon hours slaving behind your monitor(s).</p>
<p><strong>Puppet Warp</strong></p>
<p><object classid="clsid:d27cdb6e-ae6d-11cf-96b8-444553540000" width="480" height="385" codebase="http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=6,0,40,0"><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true" /><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always" /><param name="src" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/rG8g3RYIFAU&amp;hl=en_US&amp;fs=1&amp;" /><param name="allowfullscreen" value="true" /><embed type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="480" height="385" src="http://www.youtube.com/v/rG8g3RYIFAU&amp;hl=en_US&amp;fs=1&amp;" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true"></embed></object></p>
<p>The puppet warp tool is a neat feature that allows you to treat objects like they were built in 3D modeling software, giving them a wireframe.  Also the puppet warp tool will help you keep your photos from becoming distorted while making adjustments to them.</p>
<p><strong>Better Edge Detection</strong></p>
<p><object classid="clsid:d27cdb6e-ae6d-11cf-96b8-444553540000" width="480" height="385" codebase="http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=6,0,40,0"><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true" /><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always" /><param name="src" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/QNR0n_IK7MM&amp;hl=en_US&amp;fs=1&amp;" /><param name="allowfullscreen" value="true" /><embed type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="480" height="385" src="http://www.youtube.com/v/QNR0n_IK7MM&amp;hl=en_US&amp;fs=1&amp;" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true"></embed></object></p>
<p>Big upgrade to the masking tool, giving you better edge detection.</p>
<p><strong>&#8220;Just Do It&#8221;</strong></p>
<p><object classid="clsid:d27cdb6e-ae6d-11cf-96b8-444553540000" width="480" height="385" codebase="http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=6,0,40,0"><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true" /><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always" /><param name="src" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/CUF3cJjcHdY&amp;hl=en_US&amp;fs=1&amp;" /><param name="allowfullscreen" value="true" /><embed type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="480" height="385" src="http://www.youtube.com/v/CUF3cJjcHdY&amp;hl=en_US&amp;fs=1&amp;" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true"></embed></object></p>
<p>The &#8220;Just Do It&#8221; features are just small tweaks that the Adobe team has made to make tasks in Photoshop more simple(I wonder what Nike thinks of Adobe&#8217;s new slogan).</p>
<p>Some of these new features include:</p>
<ul>
<li>Apply to all<strong> </strong>when exiting out of Photoshop you can choose whether or not you would like to save all open files</li>
<li>Straighten button,<strong> </strong>quick way to straighten an image</li>
<li>Less steps to save a 16-bit files as JPG</li>
<li>Multi layer opacity control</li>
<li>Setting default styles per variable(drop shadow, stroke, etc.)*</li>
<li>Enabling or disabling multi-touch gestures*</li>
<li>Save to original folder*</li>
</ul>
<p>*Demonstration can be found <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cGlSIbhaGKM">here</a>.</p>
